Can you talk to Muse? Voice mode, glasses and voice notes
Meta’s pitch for Muse leans heavily on voice: a voice mode you can keep talking to while it works, Muse on Meta’s glasses, a pocket device and a video avatar. Most of that hasn’t shipped. Here’s what you can do by voice today and what’s still coming.
Quick answer
Mostly not yet. Today you talk to Muse by typing, on the web, phone, Mac or in WhatsApp, where Muse says it can also read voice notes. Meta has announced a full voice mode (you keep talking while Muse works, with a voice you design), Muse on its AI glasses “in the coming months,” the Muse Charm pocket device and a video avatar. None was generally available when we checked. Meta’s early access program is the way to ask for them first.
How we checked
TestedWe use Muse on the web and in WhatsApp; on October 3, 2026, we asked Muse in WhatsApp what it can do. Announced features come from Meta’s Connect 2026 post and research blog, checked October 7, 2026. See how we label evidence.

The announced voice mode
At Connect 2026, Meta said talking to Muse is “different from voice chat with an assistant”: “You can have a long, in-depth conversation, and Muse gets work done in the background while you’re still talking.” You’ll be able to “design your Muse’s voice just by describing what you want: faster, slower, or even a specific accent.”1
TestedIt wasn’t on our account yet. On October 3, Muse told us in WhatsApp that it can’t do live voice conversations.
The technology behind it is “Muse Realtime Voice,” a model that produces speech carrying “both what is said and how it’s delivered.” Meta’s research blog shows it driving Muse Realtime Avatar, an animated face or figure you can video chat with, responding in about 870 milliseconds. Meta notes its examples “do not all reflect avatars available in the Muse app.”2
Muse on Meta’s glasses
“In the coming months we’re bringing Muse to our AI glasses for hands-free access, activated by saying your agent’s name.” Meta says Muse will be able to “act on what you’re looking at, so you won’t have to describe what’s in front of you.”1 Meta’s Connect news post gave examples like asking about “a product on a shelf, a flier on a wall.”5 Meta hasn’t said which glasses models will get it first. More in Muse on Meta glasses, including how it differs from the Muse Spark model the glasses already use.
Muse Charm
Meta’s pocket device is “built for you to talk and interact with your Muse,” using “a state of the art real-time voice model,” with “more to share later this year.”1 Price and date: Muse Charm.
