Muse in India: is it available, and when will it launch?

Muse is Meta’s personal AI agent, and it’s one of the most searched AI apps in India right now, even though Indians can’t use it yet. Here’s the real status, what you see when you try, why “Muse India” APKs are a bad idea, and what works in India today.

By Published Facts checked 2026-10-15

Quick answer

No, Muse isn’t available in India yet, and Meta hasn’t announced an India launch date. It works only in the US and Canada. On October 9, 2026, the Muse app wasn’t listed in the Indian App Store. If you sign in at muse.ai from India, you’re offered a waitlist (“Join the waitlist for Muse”). Skip “Muse India” APKs and lookalike apps: they aren’t Meta’s and won’t unlock it. In the meantime, Meta AI has been available in India since June 2024, and other agents work here too.

TestedWe checked Apple’s App Store data for India on October 8–9, 2026, and saw Muse’s waitlist screen when signing in from outside the US and Canada. Everything else comes from Meta’s announcements and news reports. See how we label evidence.

When will Muse launch in India?

Meta hasn’t said. Two facts give some context, but neither is a promise:

  • ReportedMeta AI reached India in June 2024. Meta began rolling out its assistant in India on June 24, 2024, in English, across WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and meta.ai. That was about two months after Australia, Canada and New Zealand.2
  • Muse is a much bigger step. It handles email, payments and personal accounts, not just chat, so a new country likely involves more work than Meta AI did. That’s our reading, not something Meta has said.

We check Muse’s App Store listing in India and 45 other countries every week, and we’ll update this page the day it appears.

“Muse India app download” and APKs: be careful

  • There’s no official Muse APK. Meta distributes Muse through the App Store, Google Play, the Mac app and muse.ai. Official download links.
  • An APK isn’t a way in. Meta ties access to where you’re located, not to which app file you install.
  • APKs and lookalike apps are a security risk. Muse asks for your Meta login and can connect to email and payments, which is exactly what fake apps try to steal.
  • Other apps named “Muse” aren’t Meta’s agent. Meta’s app is called “Muse from Meta,” published by Meta Platforms, Inc.
  • Don’t use a VPN to sign up. Meta requires you to be located in a supported country. Why.

What works in India now

  • Meta AI, free in WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Messenger. It’s an assistant, not an agent. Muse vs Meta AI.
  • Claude: Anthropic lists India as supported, and Claude has an agent mode, Cowork.3 Muse vs Claude.
  • Gemini Spark: Google’s exclusions are the EEA, UK, Switzerland and Nigeria, but it needs a Google AI Pro or Ultra plan, and Google has confirmed Pro-plan access only in the US so far. Check your plan.4 Muse vs Gemini Spark.
  • OpenClaw, an open-source agent you run yourself. Muse vs OpenClaw.
  • The full list: what to use outside the US and Canada.
