Muse in Europe: why it isn’t available yet

Muse launched in the US and Canada, and no EU country is on Meta’s list yet. Here’s what people in Europe see when they try it, the rules that make AI agents slower to arrive, how long Meta AI took, and what Europeans can use today.

Quick answer

No, Muse isn’t available in any EU country yet, and Meta hasn’t announced a date. It works only in the US and Canada. On October 8, 2026, the app wasn’t in the App Store in Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands or Sweden. You can join Meta’s waitlist by signing in at muse.ai. Europe has been slow for Meta before: Meta AI arrived in March 2025, long after its US launch. Other companies’ agents (OpenAI’s dots, Google’s Gemini Spark) aren’t in the EU either.

TestedOn October 8, 2026, we checked Apple’s App Store data in seven EU countries and saw Muse’s waitlist screen when signing in from outside the US and Canada. Everything else comes from Meta’s announcements and news reports. See how we label evidence.

Why AI agents are slower to reach Europe

Meta hasn’t said why Muse isn’t in Europe. ReportedTrending Topics, a European tech outlet, lists four EU laws that agents like Muse have to deal with:3

  • GDPR: an agent needs a clear legal basis for every kind of personal data it processes. Muse can touch email, calendars, health apps and payments.
  • AI Act: transparency and labeling duties for AI systems, with large fines.
  • Digital Markets Act (DMA): limits on combining data across a big platform’s services without separate consent. Muse draws on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.
  • Digital Services Act (DSA): extra duties for very large platforms and search engines.

ReportedMeta’s lead privacy regulator in the EU is Ireland’s Data Protection Commission, because Meta’s European headquarters is in Dublin.4

What happened with Meta AI

Per MetaMeta AI reached 41 European countries and 21 overseas territories in March 2025, starting with text chat in six European languages. Meta wrote: “It’s taken longer than we would have liked to get our AI technology into the hands of people in Europe as we continue to navigate its complex regulatory system.”2 ReportedThat followed a 2024 pause after the Irish regulator objected to Meta’s plan to train AI on Europeans’ public posts.5

Other agents missing from Europe

  • Google’s Gemini Spark: Google says it isn’t available in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, the UK or Nigeria.6 Muse vs Gemini Spark.
  • ReportedApple’s Siri AI isn’t available in the EU either.3
