How to cancel your Muse subscription
Cancelling Muse Power or Maximum takes a minute, but where you cancel depends on where you subscribed. Here are the exact steps for each, what you keep afterwards, and the separate question of using Muse to cancel your other subscriptions.
Quick answer
Cancel where you subscribed. On the web: muse.ai → Menu → Settings → Manage subscription → Cancel → Yes, cancel. In the Muse app: profile → Menu → Settings → Manage subscription → Cancel. If you paid through the App Store or Google Play, cancel in that store instead. You keep your paid plan until the end of the billing cycle, and Meta doesn’t give partial refunds unless the law requires it.
How we checked
Steps come from Meta’s Help Center, checked October 2, 2026. Our test account is on the free plan, so we haven’t cancelled a paid plan ourselves; we’ve confirmed in the app that Settings and the Usage section are where Meta says they are. See how we label evidence.
Cancel on the web (muse.ai)
- Sign inOpen muse.ai and log in.
- Open SettingsClick Menu in the bottom left, then Settings.
- Manage subscriptionBelow Usage, click Manage subscription.
- CancelClick Cancel, then Yes, cancel.1
Cancel in the Muse app
- Open your profileTap your profile picture in the bottom right.
- SettingsTap Menu in the top left, then Settings.
- Manage subscriptionBelow your usage information, tap Manage subscription.
- CancelTap Cancel, then Yes, cancel.1
If you paid through the App Store or Google Play
Meta says to follow that store’s own cancellation process.1
- iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Muse → Cancel Subscription. Apple’s instructions.3
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Muse → Cancel subscription. Google’s instructions.4
Not sure where you subscribed? Meta’s Help Center says you manage a subscription on the same platform where you bought it, and your Manage subscription screen shows your status and renewal date.2
What happens after you cancel
- You keep your plan until the cycle ends. “Your Muse subscription stays active until the end of your current billing cycle.”1
- No partial refunds. “Meta doesn’t provide credits or partial refunds for canceled Muse subscriptions, unless required by law.”1
- Your Muse stays. Cancelling a plan doesn’t delete your chats, files or memory. Muse has a free plan with a weekly limit, which we’d expect your account to return to, though Meta’s cancellation article doesn’t say so explicitly. To delete your data, see manage or delete your Muse data.
- Check your goals. Background goals use your allowance. On a smaller plan they may run out sooner; see Muse usage limits.
Downgrading instead of cancelling
If Maximum is more than you need, Power ($20/month, 500 million weekly tokens) may be enough. Compare the plans in our Muse pricing guide before you cancel entirely.
Can Muse cancel your other subscriptions?
ReportedYes, and it’s become one of Muse’s most talked-about uses. CNBC reported that some Muse users shared their bank and credit card statements so Muse could find recurring charges and help cancel the ones they don’t use. It cited Mastercard and FT Strategies figures putting average US subscription spending at $1,887 in 2025.5 Axios reported that shares of companies relying on customers forgetting to cancel slumped after Muse’s launch.7
If you try it:
- Share only what’s needed. A statement export is enough; avoid giving full bank logins unless you’re comfortable with it.
- Keep approvals on. Have Muse ask before it cancels anything (Settings → Permissions → “Always ask”).
- You’re responsible. Muse’s terms say you’re responsible for what Muse does on your behalf and must keep “meaningful human oversight.”6
- Check the result. Look for the cancellation confirmation email from each company.
